Here is a quick invaluable styling tip: When I am designing, sketching, shopping or styling....inevitably I hit a point of OVERWHELM! My internal alarm derails my happy momentum train haha! How do I respond? 1.Do I recoil out of fear and overwhelm back into myself? 2.Do I grit my teeth and push past it? 3. Do I play the "LIKE" GAME? ANSWER: Drumroll.......... NUMBER THREE! The Like Game is fabulous, and it works everytime like magic! How do I play? 1.I get into my sensory perceptions and start to notice my hands, feel my feet on the on the ground and what is around me. 2. Then I use my fingers to count down and rattle off 20 Things in my immediate vicinity that I like. The smaller the better! Anything about what I am designing so far, to the cloths I am looking at, the room I am in, the light coming through the window, the breeze, the color of the dress, what I like about myself, or what I like about the people around me. 3. I try to do this as fast as I can! Complete MOOD SHIFT! Then I ask myself. SOOOOOO Self, how else can this go? What else is possible here? What is right about this? What is right about me that I'm not seeing. BINGO Overwhelm cured and I touch whatever I was doing and proceed with GUSTO! Then I cap it off with, "I'm the kind of lady that does things with Gusto!" He is also having fun with polka dots. Our lovely artisan moms in Mexico are so adaptable in keeping up with new design techniques, taking care of their families and making money knitting the ties and assembling the wearable hardware. When Cal gets the sets into our studios, he programs the wearable gadgets and sends it off to our clients, who go for the full 007 experience!
